How Momora works, what stays private, and what to expect.
Momora is a private baby book that fills itself from your phone. Save the photos and videos you take, the funny things your kids say, their actual voices and the drawings that come home from school, all on one timeline your family shares. Momora can draw moments as illustrations of your kids, and turns the best of it into books, films and cards.
A memory can be:
Each memory is one of these kinds. You can't mix artwork or a sound with photos or videos in the same memory.
Yes. Every memory has a date you can change, so you can add last Tuesday, or a birthday from two years ago, and it lands in the right place on the timeline. There are no streaks or reminders, and nothing is lost if you skip a week or a month.
Tap the mic and talk for up to two minutes. When you stop, choose what happens next. Turn into text transcribes and tidies up what you said, puts the text and suggested family tags in the editor for you to review, and discards the recording. Keep the sound saves the recording itself as the memory (see below).
A kept sound saves the actual recording, so a laugh, a song or a mispronounced word stays exactly as it sounded. Momora writes a short note from what it heard, which you can edit or replace, and keeps a hidden transcript so you can find the memory later by searching.
You can record in the app (up to two minutes), or bring in a voice note you already have: share it to Momora from WhatsApp or Voice Memos, or choose an audio file. Imported recordings up to five minutes are kept as they are; longer ones (up to 30 minutes) need trimming to five minutes before you save. You can trim a sound before saving, and owners and managers can trim it later from the edit screen. Trimming after saving is permanent.
On iPhone, Ogg/Opus files (for example a WhatsApp Web download) can't be opened from Files; share the voice note straight from WhatsApp instead.
In the new-memory screen, tap Scan artwork and point your camera at a drawing. Your phone's document scanner finds the edges and straightens the page. You can scan up to 10 pieces into one memory, which you can swipe through like a gallery wall.
Each piece is hung in a playful frame, with a label showing who made it (the first person you tag) and how old they were. The caption becomes its title, and Momora suggests what it was made with, like crayon or watercolor. Scanning needs the latest version of the app; on Android the scanner downloads a small module the first time you use it.
Yes. Family owners and managers can let Momora look through their photo library and suggest days worth keeping, grouped into ready-to-add memories with a draft caption. Nothing goes on your timeline unless you tap Keep. Momora never changes or deletes anything in your camera roll and never asks for your location.
To make suggestions, Momora uploads small previews of the photos it looks at to its private storage. Full-size originals are only uploaded for suggestions you keep. Suggestions you haven't acted on are cleared after 30 days. See How is my content used by AI? for what the AI sees.
The app is currently in English. You can write and dictate memories in other languages, but transcription and AI results may vary by language.
Use search on the Timeline. It looks through what people wrote, what was said in sound memories, and what's in your photos, so “pasketti” or “beach” both work. You can also filter by the people tagged and by feeling.
No. Illustrations are optional for every written memory: turn the AI option off to save it as plain text. Photos, videos, sounds and artwork are never redrawn.
Add a profile photo for a child or family member, and Momora creates a consistent illustrated character of them. When you save an illustrated memory, Momora reads its tone and draws the scene using the portraits of the people you tagged. AI output can be imperfect, and you can retry an illustration you don't like.
Text, photo, video, sound and artwork memories can tag any number of family profiles. An illustrated memory can tag up to six; if you select more, Momora turns the illustration off until you're back to six or fewer. Momora suggests tags when a name or nickname appears in your text, and you can change them before saving.
A quiet way to revisit older memories. When there's a good set of at least four, the Timeline may show a short story you can open and flip through. It never creates streaks, reminders or pressure to add anything new. Kept sounds aren't included for now.
Yes. An owner or manager creates a private, single-use invite code (valid for seven days), optionally for a specific person already in your family. The invited person enters it, and an owner or manager approves the request after checking their name and email.
The owner controls the family journal and is the only person who can delete it. Managers can add, edit and delete memories and profiles, invite members, and moderate comments. Viewers can browse, react and comment, but can't change memories or profiles.
Each person in your family can have a relationship to the kids (parent, grandparent, aunt or uncle, cousin, caregiver and so on) and, for extended family, which side they're on. Momora can suggest these, but only an owner or manager can confirm them. Anyone can mark which person in the family is them with This is me.
Yes. Everyone in the family, including viewers, can react to a memory with any emoji (one reaction per person) and leave comments. Tap the reactions to see who reacted. Comment authors can delete their own comments, and owners and managers can delete any comment.
They lose access immediately. Memories and profiles they added stay with the family journal unless an owner or manager deletes them. If their account is later permanently deleted, the remaining content no longer identifies them as its creator.
Yes. From a text, illustrated or photo memory, tap the share icon to create an image card and open your phone's share sheet. Momora does not create a public link. Video and sound memories can't be shared this way. Owners and managers can always share; viewers can share unless an owner or manager turns that off. Once you send a card, whoever receives it controls their copy.

Family owners and managers can order. Memory Books currently ship to the US, Canada and a few other countries, shown at checkout; not yet to the UK or EU. Holiday cards are seasonal and ship to US and Canadian addresses. Prices, taxes and shipping are shown before you pay.
A monthly recap arrives on the first of the month when there's enough from that month, a birthday film shortly after each child's birthday, and a year film at the end of December. Anyone in the family can watch and share them; owners and managers can make small edits, like removing a moment or changing the music.
Momora is not a public social network. Your journal is only visible to the active members of your family, with role-based access controls. Photos, videos, sounds, portraits and illustrations are kept in private storage and opened through time-limited links. Only invite people you trust.
Momora uses OpenAI for its AI features and sends only what each feature needs:

Images attached to memories are re-encoded before upload to remove EXIF data, including GPS and device details. Momora may use a photo's capture date to suggest the memory date, but keeps only the date. Video metadata is not currently stripped.
Enter your email address and Momora sends a six-digit, one-time code. There's no password, and you don't need a Google or Apple account.
Yes. Family owners use Momora Plus, with an annual plan offered by default and a monthly option. Current U.S. list prices are $99.99 per year and $12.99 per month. Eligible new owners may get a seven-day trial on the annual plan. The App Store or Google Play shows the price in your currency, trial eligibility, taxes and renewal terms before you buy. The subscription belongs to the family owner, so invited family members don't need their own. Printed keepsakes are paid for separately when you order.
If the subscription ends, your family can still read the journal and the owner can still export everything, but adding or changing memories, reacting, commenting and AI features need renewed access.
Yes, any time. A family owner can open Settings and choose Export your memories. Momora prepares a private archive with all your memories' text, photos, videos, sounds, artwork, portraits and illustrations, and emails you a download link. Export stays available after a Momora Plus subscription ends.
In the app, go to Settings → Delete account. Deletion is scheduled for 15 days later, and you can cancel it from Settings during that grace period. If you cannot access the app, use our account-deletion form.
Deleting a memory removes its text, tags, photos, videos, sound, artwork, illustration, reactions and comments. There is no recycle bin or recovery, so double-check before deleting.
